Several officials from the Electoral Commission have utilized social media to voice their concerns regarding outstanding allowances. One official expressed his dissatisfaction on social media, stating that he awoke that morning feeling discontented. He mentioned that it has been over five months since he participated as an EC official in facilitating the general election on December 7. Despite this, he claims he has yet to receive any payment from the Electoral Commission. In his video, he pointed out that government officials, including the president, members of parliament, and ministers, receive their payments promptly, whereas the ordinary Ghanaian is overlooked. He called upon the President of Ghana, John Mahama, and the EC chairperson, Jean Mensah, to ensure that the officials are compensated without further delay.
