In Kenya, the Managing Director of Nakuru Water and Sanitation Services Company Limited (Nawassco), James Ng’ang’a, has been found in a compromising situation in a hotel room with a married woman, Emmaculate Mueni, who is a junior employee at the company. Mueni serves as a Customer Care Officer. Her husband, Duncan Mwangi, confronted them at the hotel after receiving a tip-off. Mwangi arrived at the hotel room where the Managing Director was with his wife, accompanied by police officers from the Free Area Police Post. He had previously lodged a complaint at the police post under OB No 7//03/2025, alleging that Ng’ang’a was involved in an affair with his wife. He informed the police of their location and accompanied them to the scene. The distressed husband revealed that he had harbored suspicions since 2013, having noticed unusual call logs and late-night communications between his wife and the Managing Director, sometimes occurring as late as midnight or even 4 a.m. Mueni also gained professional advantages from this relationship. A previous Managing Director had dismissed her for taking an unauthorized trip to Uganda in 2013, but upon Ng’ang’a’s appointment, she was reinstated. Ng’ang’a further increased her salary and appointed her to various committees to receive allowances. He even permitted Mueni to sign important documents, as she had access to his electronic signature.
