The esteemed President Mahama of Ghana has contributed his initial six months' salary as president to assist individuals suffering from chronic illnesses.
Earlier today, on April 30, 2025, he formally inaugurated the 'Mahama Cares' initiative. During the launch, the president expressed, 'I urge corporate Ghana, including businesses, mining companies, banks, and other enterprises, to recognize that the Ghana Medical Trust Fund is beneficial to your clients who deposit their funds in your banks or engage in business with you.
Some of these individuals may even be your employees.' He further stated, 'Therefore, as part of your corporate social responsibility, if you choose to contribute, consider it as a donation to your own employees or customers.'
The president also called upon all corporations in Ghana, both private and public, to allocate a portion of their annual corporate social responsibility contributions to the Ghana Medical Fund at the end of the year, emphasizing that it will significantly benefit the nation.
