In a commendable collaborative initiative, the Ghana Police Service, in partnership with the National Signals Bureau (NSB) and the Nigerian Police Force, has successfully rescued two women featured in a widely circulated kidnapping video.
Following meticulously coordinated operations across various locations in both Ghana and Nigeria, law enforcement officials have detained eight individuals suspected of involvement in the kidnapping.
The Ghana Police Service has expressed profound appreciation to the National Signals Bureau and the Nigerian Police Force for their invaluable assistance and effective collaboration throughout the intricate rescue and apprehension efforts.
This operation was initiated shortly after a disturbing video surfaced, depicting Ama Serwaa, a 39-year-old hairdresser, being violently assaulted with a machete.
Prior to this alarming footage, Ama Serwaa had urgently appealed to her family in an earlier video, requesting the immediate payment of a GHS 500,000 ransom demanded by her captors in Nigeria.
The apprehension of eight suspects marks a significant advancement towards ensuring justice for the victims and their families.
As the investigation continues, authorities are anticipated to provide additional information regarding the identities of the rescued women and the apprehended suspects.
